PIWC Hamburg holds Maiden End of Year Presbytery Meeting.

The Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC), Hamburg has held its first district end of year Presbytery meeting at the Barmbek Assembly of the Church of Pentecost on Saturday 5th January, 2019.

The meeting which was attended by all presbyters in the district as well as ministry leaders and other office holders was under the Chairmanship of the district minister, Overseer Eric Effah Owusu. The meeting began with an opening prayer and worship by brother Eugene Boateng, the district youth leader, followed by some songs of praise led by the chorus leaders.

The end of year meeting is an annual meeting held to account to the leaders of the church on the activities which the district undertook during the past year. During this meeting, reports are read by the various ministries in the district and the financial report of the district is also read.

Overseer Eric Effah Owusu welcomed all participants to the meeting and thanked them for availing themselves to be used by God for his work throughout the past year. In his welcome address, he encouraged all the presbyters to participate fully in the meeting and urged them to make constructive criticisms where and when necessary.

In an exhortation by the district minister, Overseer Eric Effah Owusu on the theme “I will build my church”, which is the theme for the year 2019, he encouraged participants to be dedicated, determined and willing to work for the Lord so that, the Church of God can continue to progress in Glory. He assured them not to be scared of anything, because the Lord who has promised them is faithful.

The district secretary who doubles as the Presiding elder of the PIWC Barmbek, Elder Emmanuel Ompong, distributed the previous minutes of their meeting to all participants and the minutes was approved. Thereafter, Elder Emmanuel Ompong read the district report on behalf of all the ministries, recounting all the activities the district undertook, as well as the statistics of the district.

Elder Dickson Gyimah, the financial Secretary, also presented to the presbyters, the financial report of the district for the year 2018.

Participants at the meeting were impressed by their performance in 2018 as a young district that operated fully as a district for about four months, from September, 2018 to December, 2018. Overseer Effah Owusu, applauded the district secretary and the financial secretary for a good work done and making sure they presented a very good report. He again appreciated all the presbyters for their support during the year under review.

The Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC) Hamburg, was inaugurated as a district in September, 2018 after all the PIWC locals in Hamburg were merged to form the district.
